Students had the chance to send a message and some candy to the special person in their lives for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Delta Phi Epsilon, one of the sororities on campus, hosted their Valentine’s Day Candy Grams event in the Kessel Well Area. The event was tabled by Gianna Raldiris, Lauren Fiorentino, Meya Preston, Ella Tamweber, and Alisha Singh.

Students paid five dollars for each candy gram. The money was raised for a worthy cause. Raldiris states, “The money will go towards raising awareness and funds research for Cystic Fibrosis, Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD), and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).”

Delta Phi Epsilon tabled on February 18th, 2026 to help students learn about spring recruitment to the sorority. The event was held outside the Center for Student Engagement where students could pick up some Bloom Energy products.

Delta Phi Epsilon hosts a variety of events throughout the year to support awareness and fund research for Cystic Fibrosis, ANAD, and MS. On February 24th, 2026, the sorority will host their “MS with Cake Decorating” event in the Gottesman Room in Kessel. Students can sign up in teams to bake a cake centered on a certain theme, like Jurassic Park, Underwater, and Sports. The event helps to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

Also, the sorority will table their “Makeupless Monday” event on March 2, 2026, in which students can stop by the table, take off their makeup, and have the chance to pick up a free mirror. This event will be held during the sorority’s ANAD week.

Delta Phi Epsilon hosts additional events each year like “Deepher Dude,” which is a fashion show that the sorority holds in collaboration with fraternities. This event helps to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.

In addition, Delta Phi Epsilon host the “65 Roses” celebration. This event raises awareness and funds research for Cystic Fibrosis. This event is called “65 Roses” because a young boy who had Cystic Fibrosis once heard this disease as “65 Roses,” when listening to his mother make phone calls to raise funds for this disease.

The Recruitment Weekend for Fraternities and Sororities was from February 21st to the 22nd in Lienhard Hall. At this event, students learned about Greek Life and have the chance to join a fraternity or sorority. Students can only participate in a fraternity or sorority after they complete the first semester of their freshman year. In addition, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
